101 Gold Bracelets to be Awarded at 2020 World Series of Poker
The World Series of Poker final schedule has been revealed!
Moreover, the 51st annual WSOP will see a record number of gold bracelets given out as a prize. There will be 101 gold bracelets awarded at this event. This beats the previous record of 89 handed out in 2019.
A total of 87 live bracelets will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Another 14 coveted prizes are reserved for online events. This is nearly double the number of those in all previous years combined. They will be given to players residing in Nevada and New Jersey, who are eligible to play on WSOP.com.
Since late in 2019, the WSOP has been gradually releasing information about the planned events for this year’s poker tournament.
Some of the previous announcements included info on the popular ‘value menu’ events and also $1,500 Buy-In events. Overall, 93 events had been announced, and the last 8 were made public in a press release on February 27th. You can find them on the official WSOP site.
In addition to completing the schedule, the WSOP’s latest press release also covered updated registration and payout process.
In-person registration and payouts for events will be separated into different rooms for the first time. This will allow for more stations to be added to both areas with the goal of preventing overcrowding and reducing waiting time.
WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart commented on the changes.
“There is no doubt we need to do a better job of getting people in their seats and playing poker faster. We’ve looked closely at several areas in the off-season,” he said, adding that they’ve “dedicated new resources – technology, equipment and people – to aid in these efforts in 2020.”
All of this makes them optimistic that “it can lead to a noticeable improvement.”
