WPT Announce Brand New Event With $1Million Guaranteed – The WPT500

Season XII of the World Poker Tour (WPT) may be winding down, but season XIII is just around the corner and the organisers have announced a new event for this coming July.

The Aria Poker Room in Las Vegas will be hosting a brand new event from Tuesday 1st July through until Sunday 6th July, an event that will come with a $1million guaranteed prize pool. The $565 NL Hold’em Event will form part of the WPT500 at the Aria Resort & Casino, with the winner walking away with a minimum of $200,000.

The WPT President is Adam Pliska and he had this to say regarding the new event. He said, “We are extremely excited to announce PartyPoker presents: WPT500 at Aria Resort & Casino, WPT’s newest tournament format. It’s nice to be back in Las Vegas, hosting our first event at Aria and partnering again with PartyPoker to bring poker players to this special $500 + $65 buy-in event.”

There are many different ways of gaining entry into this new great event, with low stakes qualifiers being available online and live satellites being made available at the Aria Resort & Casino. Jeffrey Haas is the Global Poker Director at PartyPoker and he was in bullish mood about the new event as he said, “We expect more online qualifiers to participate in this event than any other poker tournament in Las Vegas this summer. The dream of massive tournaments with accessible buy-ins remains alive, and they will come from all over the world to compete for the $200K first prize. Of course they will enjoy their time staying at ARIA — one of the biggest poker hotspots on The Strip.”

It promises to be a great event, and with so many seats being made available the guaranteed prize pool may well be broken when the prizes are handed out during July.
