World Series Of Online Poker Promises To Be Biggest And Best Yet
It is still three months until the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event winner will be decided, but there is still plenty of action for poker lovers to get their teeth into, none more so than The World Championship of Online Poker which gets under way in less than a months time.
This years World Championship of Poker will start on Sunday 8th September and it will run until Monday 30th September. In all there will be a total of 66 events played out and there will be a guarantee of at least $40million on offer, both of which will make this years event the biggest in the tournaments history.
The Main Event will be a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em affair and it commences on Sunday 29th September and this years event will have a prize pool of at least $8million, which is $3million more than last year and the winner will walk away with a minimum of $1.25million.
Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier has won two bracelets at the Online World Championships and he is looking forward to this years event. He said, “The World Championship of Online Poker is definitely the biggest online tournament series of the year. My goal is to try and play as many events as possible and regain the overall leadership in bracelets. I think Dan Kelly has four, so I really would love to have five, but it’s a long way to go because I have two.”
The World Championships of Online Poker is now into its second decade after its inauguration in 2002 and in the 11 preceding years a total of in excess of $300million has been awarded. This years event promises to be another huge success and it all starts in just 26 days time.
