Out of a total of 738 entries Christian Harder made it to the top in the 5 thousand dollar buy-in no-limit hold’em which was the main event.  Thus, making this his very first major title and earning the $429,664.00 which was the top prize.  Christian Harder furthermore scored 1,824 points towards the 2017 Card Player of the Year race which is sponsored by the Commerce Casino and Hotel.  With this massive amount of points that he earned moved him right to the top in the standings overall.

Christian Harder came into this final day of the tournament in the position of second chip with a total of six players that remained.  The shortest stack as well as being the biggest name that was sat at the final table was Cliff Josephy.  This amazing 51 year old poker player finished in the third place within the 2016 WSOP main event.  Cliff was ultimately able to mount a comeback, surving all the way to a heads up game which was against Christian, who by the way Cliff backed in many poker tournaments in previous years.  It was Cliff that was backing Christian when he made it all the way to seventh place in the PCA event in the year of 2008.
