The World Poker Tour Has Come to California
Well it looks like California is the current home of the big stops being made on the World Poker Tour. The World Poker Tour has made its way to The Bay 101 Casino in San Jose, CA. The Bay 101 Casino will be the host of the World Poker Tour until March 13, 2015. Perhaps the largest event to take place will be the World Poker Tour Shooting Star main event.
The Event
This event is the only event to have what are called “bounties.” “What is that?” you might ask. Well, a bounty occurs when a “Shooting Star” is at the table with the players. In these “bounty” events, at least one shooting star must start at each table. A shooting star is any professional, often-popular poker player, and in this event, he/she has a “bounty” placed on his/her head. Any player who can “bust the shooting star” receives an award of $2,500 cash. Typically, the winner also receives an autographed “bounty” t-shirt.
An additionally intriguing part of this event awards $10,000 to the end of the day chip leaders. This is divvied up amongst them, and this only occurs on the first two days of the event. This event is one of the largest attractions on the World Poker Tour, but the excitement in California doesn’t stop in San Jose.
The 2015 Tournament
The 2015 Winnin’ O’ the Green series takes place at The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, CA throughout this month. This is a 35 part series, and the highlight this week is a $1,675 no-limit hold em’ main event. The series begins March 14th. Also, the World Poker Tour will be at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, CA. This is the last stop on the California tour, also beginning on March 14th. California, The World Poker Tour wants you!
