Stan Strickland To Leave Borgata and Move To Pompano Beach
Over the past few days there has been lots of speculation on various websites that Stan Strickland was asked to resign from his post as Director of Poker Operations at Borgata in Atlantic City.
Poker website PokerNews.com first reported the news yesterday regarding Strickland and asked Ray Stefanelli, Director of Poker Marketing at Borgata, and Joe Lupo, Senior Vice President of Operations at Borgata Hotel and Casino about Strickland’s resignation, but both refused to comment and denied the reports.
Whilst Strickland has resigned his post at Borgata, to take up a similar post at The Isle Casino in Pompano Park, he wanted to put the record straight about the recent rumours. He posted the following statement on the poker strategy website Two Plus Two which reads, “This is not true. I was not asked to resign. It is true that I turned in my two week notice Saturday night so that I could take the offer of Director of Poker Operations at Pompano Beach Florida. Since I turned in my two week notice, I will be at the Borgata until I leave for Florida on April 6th. Please stop by and see me before I leave. Or, say hello in Florida.” He simply signed the statement ‘Stan’.
Strickland has been linked to numerous success stories whilst at Borgata and during his time as Director of Poker Operations he helped develop The Boardroom Poker Lounge, though only last month they were surpassed as the most profitable poker room in the area by Parx Casino.
Perhaps this is the reason why Strickland is leaving Borgata and moving to Pompano Beach, but that is only speculation, but in a world where numbers and profits rank high above anything else only Strickland and his employers may know the real reason.
