Spartan’s Summer IOPC Tournament Re-raising the Bar
Spartan Poker, Indian online poker site has decided to raise the bar even more by hosting another online tournament series.
After the poker site has already hosted the successful India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) in January, they announced the July edition that comes with another record-breaking prize pool.
The new IOPC will run between July 14 and 28 with a $1.58 million guarantee, upping the previous one of $1.2 million.
In addition to this history-making prize, a Player of the Series leaderboard will give away $43,000 and a luxury car. The main event will take place on July 28, with the tournament featuring a $144,135 guarantee and cost $158 to enter.
However, in order to encourage more players to participate, Spartan Poker will run a series of small stakes events.
In total, the summer edition of the IOPC will feature 82 MTTs and a selection of satellites. In addition to offering Indian online poker players bigger rewards than ever, this festival will also help establishing Spartan’s position as the market leader.
According to the latest stats from PokerScout, Spartan Poker is the third in the national ranking, closely behind India’s most active site Adda52 and PokerBaazi. This puts the Spartan Poker site ahead of the world’s largest online gaming brand, PokerStars, in the national rankings.
But, PokerStars is not giving up. The site has recently hosted an Indian version of its Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), trying to get ahead of its competition in India.
However, Indian players still have more interest in local sites, so PokerStars India had to make an attempt to establish itself through celebrity endorsements. Back in march, they signed the deal with Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Because of such initiative from PokerStars, Spartan has responded with this record-breaking tournament festival, hoping to strengthen its position and establish itself as the go-to site for high value MTT action.
