Red Star Poker Migrates to Playtech’s iPoker Network
Playtech, one of the leading suppliers of online gaming and sports betting software, has just announced that operator Red Star Poker will be joining its iPoker network.
The Microgaming Poker Network (MPN), Red Star poker’s previous poker platform, has recently announced its plans to close. After it was recently confirmed that MPN will be closing in 2020, Red Star Poker decided to join Playtech’s iPoker network, the biggest poker network in the world.
Red Star announced:“We took a long time to choose a network that would be a good replacement for the existing one, and finally we found it.”
Online poker room Red Star Poker, which was established in 2005, focuses on the Eastern European marketplace. Red Star used to be a part of Cake Poker Network, and then joined MPN in 2013, and is now first one out of 16 other MPN skins to reveal its plan to move to another poker network. As a part of the network integration, they will gain access to the Playtech Poker Network liquidity pool, software and services. Meanwhile MPN customers can still continue playing on network until its closure.
Playtech chief operating officer Shimon Akad commented on the latest addition to the Playtech Poker Network: “At a time when the Poker market is facing undeniable challenges, at Playtech we are completely committed to addressing those challenges head-on.”
“Red Star’s decision to collaborate with us is a testament to our long-term investment in our poker network and its ongoing development – and of course our commitment to our operators,” he added.
Playtech also revealed that more collaborations with online poker operators are on the way, though the identity of the operators wasn’t disclosed yet. With MPN closing in 2020, we can possibly expect that Playtech also takes some of the other MPN skins under its wing.
