PokerStars Prepares 300 Platinum Passes for New Annual Championship
The thing everyone in the poker world is buzzing these days is the return of the iconic European Poker Tour (EPT) and the new Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship.
When PokerStars, the market leader in the world of poker, decided to eradicate the EPT, the most powerful brand in poker outside WSOP, everyone was skeptical but now, a year later, everything starts to make sense. They wanted to find a more universal approach to online poker and they renewed commitment to promote poker around the world.
The European Poker Tour and its other regional brands is back and so is the Latin American Poker Tour and the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour. Sochi, Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Prague are definitely on EPT schedule for 2018 and players of all levels can once again enjoy in all its glory.
PokerStars has also announced the launch of annual Players No-Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC) that will run in the week prior to the 2019 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas. This exclusive poker tournament will see the world’s biggest online poker site pump at least $9 million of added value into the prize pool. $8 million will be awarded throughout the year in the form of 300 free packages and additional $1 million will be awarded to the eventual winner of the championship.
PokerStars hope to make the inaugural PSPC a smashing success and therefore they decided to give away these prize packages. They named them Premium Passes and they include the $25,000 buy-in, six nights’ hotel accommodation and $2,000 in travel expenses so every Platinum Pass has a worth of $30,000.
Some Premium Passes are to be won and some will be given away at random throughout the 2018. You can win a Pass by simply playing in online or live events as well as in cash games. Now and then, some player will be chosen at random and be given a Pass. There will also be Platinum Passes in some of the Stars Reward Chests.
Winning tournaments like Sunday Million, Sunday Storm, MicroMillions event, Turbo Championship of Online Poker, World Championship of Online Poker will bring you the Premium Pass.
The first chance to win it was on PokerStars Championship in Prague when two players who simultaneously bubbled the PSC Prague Main Event won Premium Passes. The next batch will be awarded during online Winter Series and IPO in Italy.
PokerStars plans to make the new PSPC the richest tournament in the history of poker with the $25,000 buy-in.
With both high and micro stakes players, plus an added $1 million for the winner, PSPC will make a fantastic poker spectacle.
