Pokerstars closes a deal with Casino Gran Madrid

The world’s biggest online poker company, PokerStars, has closed an agreement that will see the Casino Gran Madrid open a new state-of-the-art branded room early next year featuring over 20 tables.

The Casino Gran Madrid is among the largest land-based casinos in Spain with PokerStars unveiling that the new branded room, which is presently under construction, will be used to host a regular schedule of live tournaments along with monthly and quarterly special events having a wide selection of buy-ins.

Business Development Group Head for PokerStar, Guy Templer said “Casino Gran Madrid is the premier casino destination in Madrid, which we already work with to host some of the largest and most successful poker tournaments in Spain,”

“Establishing a permanent PokerStars-branded poker room in the casino will give more players the opportunity to play world-class poker with the high-quality player experience that PokerStars is known for.”

The two companies are set to co-promote the new PokerStars-branded room, which has been designed to accommodate at least 200 players and is expected to serve 20,000 competitors a year, on-site and online at PokerStars.es while a regular schedule of educational sessions and special high-roller events is also being envisaged alongside occasional professional poker and celebrity competitions.

“This extra dimension will catch the interest of all national and international players. Our ambition is to create an amazing atmosphere to play poker, adapting the lighting, the seats and the audiovisual support to the needs of the poker player.”
