PokerStars is wealthier for yet another prize having scooped the Online Poker Operator of the Year at GGA Awards.

The Global Gaming Awards, powered by Gambling Insider, are held annually to honour the absolute best in the online gaming industry.

On 4 February, at the eve of ICE Totally Gaming in London, the ceremony of GGA took place at the Hippodrome Casino, welcoming the gaming experts and executives from all over the world.

Nominees were being considered from 16 categories and the panel of fifty judges decided on the awards. Each judge had to submit their first and second choice and then the votes were tallied under the wake eye of auditing firm KMPG of the Isle of Man.

One of the most coveted accolades at GGA 2019 was the Online Poker Operator of the Year and PokerStars took the prize home.

The judges looked carefully into who best honours one of the most popular verticals in the industry and who provides the most enjoyable and unique games to their players. The competition was pretty tough and PokerStars defeated nine competitors fair and square.

Other poker operators shortlisted for the award were Unibet, PartyPoker, The Spartan Poker, Sky Poker, Svenska Spel, PokerMira, PokerMatch, Pokerdom and 888Poker. After the voting process was finished, PokerStars won the Online Poker Operator of the Year while Svenska Spel finished second and 888Poker landed the third place.

LeoVegas won the Online Casino award, while Novomatic was voted the Casino Supplier award. Evolution scooped the Online Casino Supplier of the Year award. NetEnt took home the Casino Product of the Year for Jumanji while Bet365 won the award for best Affiliate Programme. Ladbrokes is the Betting Shop Operator, Jackpotjoy is the Online Bingo Operator and Betradar the Retail Supplier. The panel of judges voted Trustly as the Best Payment Solution and Kindred Group’s Player Safety Early Detection System as the Corporate Responsibility Programme.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners that showed operational excellence displayed across the past 12 months.
