Poker Pro Bernard Lee Is Giving This Holiday Season
Poker pro and Card Player columnist Bernard Lee delivered some holiday cheer to those less fortunate in his hometown of Boston.
For the 11th consecutive year, the Wayland, MA native teamed up with FamilyAid Boston to provide customized holiday packages to 38 local families that were experiencing homelessness. RunGoodGear.com also served as a sponsor for the initiative.
“FamilyAid is serving numerous children and parents this holiday season, and Bernard and his children are helping give the gift of happiness and joy to families who need it the most,” said FamilyAid President Larry Seamans.
“We are grateful to Bernard for six consecutive years of partnership and his dedication to bringing joy to these homeless children and parents.”
In previous years, Lee used The Full House Charity Program to distribute customized gifts to families at a holiday party. This year, in light of the pandemic, the gifts were brought directly to FamilyAid Boston, which then distributed the packages to the families directly.
“My family and I feel so fortunate to be able to pay it forward and make these families’ holiday season a little brighter,” said Lee. “This family tradition is the highlight of the year for me and my children, as we truly look forward to creating each customized gift package for the kids. I also want to truly thank two organizations: FamilyAid for working carefully through all the issues during this unprecedented pandemic so we can still provide these holiday gift packages and RunGoodGear, whose ambassadors have donated specifically requested toys year after year to be included in the kids’ holiday packages.”
Lee, who made a name for himself in the poker world after his 13th-place finish in the 2005 World Series of Poker main event, founded his Full House Charity Program in February 2011. Since its inception, it has provided more than $100,000 worth of goods and funds to children-focused organizations in New England.
