Piet Bakker leads the way at the end of day 1a in the 2016 World Poker Tour Amsterdam Main Event.

Day 1 of this main event in the Dutch Capital started off with a total number of 115 players.  Out of those 115 players only 52 of them will be returning on Thursday for Day 2 after a total of nine exhausting levels.

All spectators’ eyes were on Farid Yachou, who was the player that played his very first big live event here in the previous year, who ended up winning $225,073.00.  Yachou’s amazing story does not end there; things only became better as he won the WTP Tournament of Champions just last month for $381,600.00.  With only two major events played and two wins under his belt, will he continue this amazing roll here back on the home soil?  Day 1a was not a good day for him, yet he will have some options in order to win this event.

Yachou was not the first player to bust, as that honor was taken by Vincent Gabel  as his bluff with a flush draw was called by top set.

Here are the Top 10 Chip Counts of Day 1a
