London Poker Festival Sees Introduction Of £50,000 Super High Roller Event
The European Poker Tour (EPT) is entering its 10th season and it is now the richest poker tour in Europe, so much so that it now attracts many of the worlds top players year after year. One of the more popular stops of the tour is the London Poker Festival which is now less than a month away, and this year a high roller £50,000 event has been added to the schedule for the very first time.
The London Poker Festival gets under way on Wednesday 2nd October and runs for 10 days, coming to an end on Saturday 12th October. This years event will also see a new venue with the Grand Connaught Rooms in central London being the chosen venue to host the 38 events over the 10 days.
Last years event attracted nearly 2,000 players and organisers are expecting to surpass that number with ease this year, especially as some of the biggest names in poker are expected to attend. Also a staggering sum of £8million was paid out in prize money during last years event, so you can see why players from all over the globe are eager to attend.
Canadian superstar Daniel Negreanu is just one high profile player that will be in attendance at the new £50,000 Super High Roller Event. Speaking over the weekend he said, “I think London is the perfect venue for a high buy in event and it’s sure to attract all the heavy hitters. It’s one I definitely won’t be missing!”
The United Kingdom and Irish Poker Tour (UKIPT) £1,100 Main Event will get the proceedings under way, with the £5,250 EPT Main Event starting on Monday 6th October and running for six days. It promises to be a great 10 days of poker in London next month and it all gets under way in just three weeks time.
