First Ever Ladies Bracelet Event To Be Contested At This Years European WSOP
For the last 36 years ladies have had their own event at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) guaranteeing one female bracelet winner at Vegas each and every year. Now the European WSOP (WSOPE) will host its first ever ladies bracelet event this coming October as well.
Ty Stewart is the Executive Director of the WSOP and he had this to say about the addition of the new event to this years WSOPE. He said, “We first offered a Ladies event at the Vegas WSOP in 1977, and felt it was the right time to add this tradition to WSOPE. We need to do more to promote ladies involvement with the game, and with the many breakout stars in the region, it feels like a women’s European championship is long overdue.”
Ty Stewart is right a women’s European championship is long overdue and it is hoped that some of the worlds biggest names will be in Paris this coming October for the inaugural ladies bracelet event. The event has been added to the very beginning of the schedule meaning this years event will start a day earlier than originally planned. The event will be a No Limit Hold’em Event and it will have a buy in of €1,100, and organisers hope that last years figure of 84 for the non bracelet ladies event will be beaten.
