Big Names Already Registered For This Years $1million Big One for One Drop
At the time of writing there are just 99 days until the start of the $1million Big One for One Drop at this years World Series of Poker and already 23 of the 56 seats have been sold.
Some of the worlds leading high stakes poker players have already secured their seat for this years event including the defending champion Antonio Esfandiari who won the title in 2012 when the event was last played. Speaking earlier this week Esfandiari said, “I can’t wait to defend my title. That event was life-changing, but so was my trip to El Salvador after it with the One Drop organization to see first hand what a difference the money raised from this event can do for those in dire need of help.”
Referring to this years event Esfandiari said, “I think there will be more mainstream media around the event. There was a lot around the first one, but I think that with the two-year wait people are really anxious and excited, not to mention, the bigger prize pool is always a nice draw.” Esfandiari was then asked if he fears any of the players at this years event, to which he replied, “I fear any good, aggressive player on my left. That’s about it. If he’s on my right, I don’t fear him one bit.”
With the likes of Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, Jason Mercier, Philipp Gruissem and Sam Trickett already confirming their entries for this years $1million Big One for One Drop the event promises to be a huge spectacular, all of whom took part in 2012. Another returning player to this years event is investor Bill Perkins who said, “Amazingly I lost a million dollars in this event in 2012, but still had a great time. Little do the others know, but that was all part of a plan to set them up for this year. I’m calling my shot now, I will win the 2014 Big One for One Drop this year.”
Fighting talk from Bill Perkins then, but with so many other great names already registered to play it really is hard to pick out a winner, but here at Poker Net we fancy either Sam Trickett or Philipp Gruissem to come out on top at this years $1million Big One for One Drop, though the real winners will be the charity themselves as they are guaranteed $111,111 from each buy-in, and a full field of 56 players will generate over $6million for charity.
