Aussie Millions Main Event Teams Up With Asia Pacific Poker Tour

The Aussie Millions is an event that attracts the top players from around the world, and it is also an event that gets the poker year off to a great start as it is regularly held during January. Earlier this week Crown Melbourne announced, in conjunction with the PokerStars.net Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT), that the Aussie Millions Main Event will be part of the this seasons APPT in Australia. This years event gets underway on Thursday 23rd January and runs until Monday 10th February with the Main Event commencing on Sunday 2nd February.

Xavier Walsh is the chief Operating Officer at Crown Resorts and he is sure the event is going to be a huge success. In a press release earlier this week Mr Walsh said, “The Aussie Millions is regarded as one of the marquee poker events globally, and by aligning with the biggest poker tour in the region, the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour, will further guarantee the event’s success in coming years. This initiative will provide Crown with significant exposure in Asia, Europe and America, and forms an integral part of Crown’s global marketing strategy to attract further international visitors to Australia and Crown Melbourne.”

Danny McDonagh is the President of the APPT and he is also predicting the event is going to be a huge success. He said, “The Aussie Millions becoming part of the APPT is a great fit for both Crown Melbourne and Global Poker Tours Ltd. Linking one of the best tournaments in the Asia-Pacific with the region’s biggest poker tour benefits everyone. Personally, I can’t wait to again be actively involved in one of the very top big buy-in events in the world.”

Next years event promises to be one of the biggest and best yet, and the first cards will be dealt in just two months time, so make sure your have your passports at the ready if you wish to visit Australia for this truly great event.
