$10Million Guarantee For Main Event At 2014 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure

The world of poker is eagerly awaiting the resumption of this years World Series of Poker (WSOP), but the ‘November Nine’ do not reconvene for another six weeks yet. In the meantime there is still plenty of poker action to keep every one happy and today we can bring you the news of the schedule for one of the largest events in the calendar outside of the WSOP, the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA).

The 2014 event will again take place at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas and the action gets under way in January. In all there will be 39 events at the 2014 PCA, with the main event coming with a $10million guarantee for the first time, and the buy-in for the main event will be $10,300. Last years main event saw 987 players enter generating a prize pool of $9.6million, though in four of the previous ten years the $10million barrier has been broken, though if entries beat last years number that prize pool could rise yet further.

David Carrion is the Director of Live Operations for the PCA and he had this to say about next years event. He said, “This is the first time we’ve put a guarantee on the Main Event, and we’re hoping the $10 million purse will help smash last year’s field of 987 players. But it wasn’t just about the Main Event in 2013, the festival generated more than 6,000 total entries and more than $28 million in prize pools across all events, with over 200 runners in the $25,000 High Roller. With even more ways to win a PCA package this year in online and live qualifiers, we’re predicting the 2014 PCA to be one of the biggest and most accessible ever.”

This years event will kick-off with the $100,000 Super High Roller Event on 5th January, with the Main Event starting on 7th January, and the $25,500 High Roller Event starting a few days later on 11th January.
