Genting UK closes Fox Poker Club

Genting UK, a top casino provider has publicised that the venue has closed its doors with immediate impact a little more than a year after buying the land-based Fox Poker Club in London

Founded by Chris North and Ian Hogg, the Fox Poker Club was given a full UK casino licence in 2008 prior to opening its doors in September of 2010 after acquiring funding of around a million dollars. The venue continued to hire around 80 staff and had additionally managed to attract around 20,000 members during the time of its purchase by Genting UK.

A statement released by Genting UK late yesterday read “It is with regret that Genting UK today announces that the Fox Poker Club will be cease operation,”

“The management and staff of [the] Fox Poker Club would like to thank all of its customers for supporting the venture over the past two years. Further information will be released shortly.”

Genting UK is a part of Genting Malaysia, which is itself owned by leisure and hospitality giant Genting Berhad, and runs 45 casinos throughout Great Britain. It spent an undisclosed amount for the Fox Poker Club in November of 2011 and added the venue to its profile that also consists of the Circus, Maxims and Mint brands.
