With millions of dollars set on the line, this 22 year old Fedor Holz from Germany holds his cool under the vast pressure to wipe out the fields in the high roller events this current summer, as well as over the past few years.

There have been many key factors that has lead to Holz’s success such as his understanding of where he is at in a hand, as well as in the tournament, not to mention his remarkable ability to play of his image while at the table. These were the key factors in the hand that turned everything around for him during the heads-up 2016 WSOP $111,111 High Roller for One Drop No-Limit Hold’em event that took place in Las Vegas on this past Sunday July 10th, 2016.

Fedor Holz started his heads-up game play holding a single chip lead over player Dan Smith, but it did not take Smith long to snatch it away.

With the fact that there was more than a 1.9 million dollar difference between the first place winnings and the second place winnings in this event, there was a tangible tension in the air.  All of the strength had just suddenly shifted in Smith’s favor as the 26th level of the tournament had started, which pushed the blinds up to $400,00/$800,00 with a $100,00 ante.

At this point Holz was playing just over 34 million dollars and Smith was just under 60 million dollars, just when Holz woke up to a 6 of hearts and a 5 of hearts on the button and raised to a 1.8 million dollar.  Smith took a look at his hand which held a 9 of hearts and an 8 of spades as he fired back, making it a a cool six million to go, but he was unable to shake Holz who than called with his suited connectors.

During this amazing game the stack sizes were not the only thing that shifted, Holz grabbed the momentum one final time and rode it all the way to victory, collecting his very first WSOP bracelet as well as the massive first place prize of $4,981,775.00.
