The World Poker Tour (WPT) Alpha8 Series is currently in London for the second leg of the exclusive high roller tour, and organisers have now also announced an extra stop off for St Kitts in November, an event that will be televised.

The St Kitts leg of the WPT Alpha8 Series has been scheduled for Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November, and as with all the other events in the Aplha8 Series it comes with a buy-in of $100,000. The event will be held at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Royal Beach Casino in Christophe Harbour, St. Kitts, and already a handful of the worlds top players have conformed they will be in attendance, with the likes of Erik Seidel, Philipp Gruissem and Tobias Reinkemeier being just three.

Adam Pliska is the President of the WPT and he had this to say in a press release yesterday morning. He said, “St. Kitts is the perfect setting in which to watch some of the boldest amateur players put their games to the test against the highest-profile professionals. The island’s unspoiled tropical beauty will also provide for compelling television in a tropical environment that is both relaxed and inspiring for those seeking a glimpse into this exclusive and exotic lifestyle.”

The current Alpha8 event in London saw just 17 players start Day 1, which took place yesterday, and already Erik Seidel, San Trickett, Jeff Gross, Sorel Mizzi and Dhru Patel have busted out of the event, but they can all re-enter today if this wish to do so. Current leader is Tobias Reinkemeier with 428,000 chips, and he has a healthy lead over second place man Fabian Quoss who has a chip stack of 271,000. Of the remaining nine players Viktor Bloom, Igor Kurganov and Tong G have healthy chip stacks and will fancy their chances later today, though last placed man Steven Silverman will be looking to double up early as he holds just 38,700.
