Many of the low buy-in events at the 2016 WSOP have a surprise for the players after the completion of the first hour.

During this year’s WSOP the antes in level three will increase cost per round more than many may expect.

If you have been planning to play the Colossus or any of the other low buy-in hold’em events during the 2016 WSOP in 2016, you should get ready to make an aggressive stance very early on.

During the 2015 WSOP the starting stacks for most of the events with buy-ins were $1,000.00 or less.  During the 2016 WSOP these starting stacks have been increased to $5,000.00 chips.  The events that were getting stacks of 1,500.00 in the 2015 WSOP will also be increased to $7,500.00.  This led to some longer pre-bubble play, as the structure was not adjusted to the same degree as the stacks.

In the 2016 WSOP they have stayed with the 5,000-chip starting stack for the (Event #12) $565 Pot-Limit Omaha, the (Event #2) $565 Colossus, (Event #1) $565 Casino Employees and the (Event #54) $888 Crazy Eights as well as for the several $1,000 events.

Here are the structures for the early levels of the 2015 WSOP Colossus compared to the 2016 WSOP Colossus:
