PartyPoker Announce New UK Poker Tour

PartyPoker have recently re-branded and given their software a major upgrade, which according to some has been long overdue, and to celebrate their new offerings they have now announced plans for a poker tour of the United Kingdom as well.

The tour will be known as the World Poker Tour (WPT) National Series and the first event has been scheduled for next month at Aspers Casino Westfield City and will form part of the WPT National London Event. The events are going to be played as an accumulator event, something that the Poker Manager at Aspers Casino Westfield City John Scanlon was quick to explain. He said, “Players have the option to buy in to one, two or all three of the Day one flights. At the end of each flight, we bag your chips and move them forward to Day 2. All chips from each flight are accumulated to give players their total starting stack for Day 2. The tournament is based on an innovative format from the Aussie Millions, where there was a big buzz amongst players about the best strategy to play. The structure is all about bringing more people into the game at various levels of buy-ins.”

The buy for next months event has been set at £180 + £20 for the three Day 1’s, though you can qualify for a lot less direct from the vast array of cheap satellites that are available at PartyPoker right now. It has not been confirmed yet, but Milton Keynes, Newcastle and Northampton are thought to be stops on the new tour as well, and as soon as those dates become available we will of course bring you all of the relevant details here at Poker Net.
