Written By: Maya Michaels | April 30, 2013 | Posted In Poker News

Tonight is the night that the first legal hand of online poker will be dealt in The United States of America, with Nevada based UltimatePoker.com having the privilege of dealing the historic first hand at 9pm PST this evening.

Two years and 15 days on from that fateful day in April 2011, a day that is simply known as Black Friday in the world of online poker, real money online poker will return to the computer screens of many tonight. If you are aged 21 and over and live in the state of Nevada, or you are just visiting, you are able to open an account tonight, deposit real money, and play online poker for real. It is hard to believe, but it is true legal online poker has returned!

Tom Breitling is The Chairman at Ultimate Poker and he was a very proud man when he broke the news. He said, “We are proud to be the first company to deliver legal and secure real-money online gaming to poker players. We have worked closely with state gaming regulators to demonstrate our unique and compelling poker platform that, above all, players know they can trust. Ultimate Poker is dedicated to being the players’ choice for online poker.”

It really is great news for all concerned, none more so than poker professional and ambassador for Ultimate Poker Antonio Esfandiari. Speaking to Pokernews.com Esfandiari said, “This day has been a long time coming. Online poker in the United States is finally here and totally legit. I signed on to be the ambassador for Ultimate Poker because I knew the people behind this company would do it right. I signed on because UltimatePoker.com is where I would come to play. Now we all can.”

There are to be a host of different games available when the action gets under way tonight, but you do not have to wait until then to sign up as you can do it right now. Limit Texas Hold’em and No Limit Texas Hold’em ring games will be available to play with stakes ranging from $0.01 all the way up to $20, with more games being added in due course. There will also be tournaments on a daily basis, including nine and six seater tables, including winner takes all heads up tables.

Friday 15th April 2011 will be a date that is firmly imprinted on the foreheads of thousands for many years to come, but finally the online poker world, in Nevada at least, can move on and the date of Tuesday 30th April 2013 is the date that will be remembered for all the right reasons and be called ‘Pioneering Tuesday’ or ‘Historical Tuesday’ perhaps.
