All you poker aficionados out there will probably be only to aware that the first real money poker game played on the internet took place on January 1st 1998. Fast forward some 15 years and you will not only find online poker played in houses all across the globe, but you will also find people playing poker on their way to work during their morning commute on the bus or train, and in some cases if the bosses allow it you may even find people playing poker in work too! Why? Mobile poker that’s why, and the latest company to introduce a mobile poker app is Ivey Poker.

Earlier this year Ivey Poker released a beta version of their new app on the social media website Facebook, and during the testing over the last three months Ivey Poker have reported over 10,000 active users. Yesterday, Monday 23rd September, Ivey Poker released their mobile version and it is hoped that the number of active users will continue to grow in the foreseeable future.

Speaking at the launch of the Ivey Poker mobile app Phil Ivey said, “Bringing Ivey Poker to mobile was the next logical step. Just like with poker, the app is ever evolving. We want to offer as many platforms as possible to give everyone a chance to play.”

Ivey went on to say, “I remember how difficult it was when I first started playing online poker. There were very few options available. If you did not have a PC, you could not play. That is why we are striving to make Ivey Poker available to everyone.”

As Phil Ivey rightly puts it poker is a “ever evolving” game and companies like his own have to keep finding new and improved ways to keep their loyal customer base happy, because if they don’t they will just move to the company who do offer what they want. Love it or hate it poker is a multi-million dollar business, and now that mobile poker is widely available across the globe as well it is just going to get bigger and bigger despite the worlds current financial situation.
