On day 14 of the Aussie Million Poker Championship, the final starting flight for the main event drew 337.  With an ultimate stack of chips worth 175,000, German Jens Lakemeier finished on top of the leader board in the third as well as final starting flight for the main event of the 2016 Aussie Millions Poker Championship Main Event.  But, Jens Lakemeier was not the player who caught heading during Wednesday’s Day 2 in this most prestigious poker tournament.

James Obst is the player that took the spotlight on this game day who bagged a total of 212,000 during the very first flight.

After seven levels of intensified action, the Main Event’s final starting flight came to an end in the very early hours on Wednesday morning being played at Crown Melbourne.  This was the day that saw the biggest group of competitors take to the table making the total number entries to over 700 making this year’s event the 4th largest in its nineteen year history.

It was this day that saw poker stars such as John Juanda, Phil Ivey as well as Steve O’Dwyer hit the rail, while others such as Erik Seidel, Martin Jacobson as well as Jason Mercier went on.

Phil Ivey hit the rail in Level six by the Australian player Tamara Volkoff.  As the blinds were at 250/500/75, Phil went all in with his short stack of chips totaling 2,275 holding a Jack of Spades, and nine hearts, while his opponent Tamara was holding an Ace of Spades and an Ace of Clubs and held through the seven clubs, five diamonds, three diamonds, king of hearts, ten diamonds boards to ultimately bust Phil Ivey.   Stevan Chew fell in the same level as Juanda, as Steven O’Dwyer  fell just one level prior as he ran queens into kings.
