Austrian Chocolate Distributor Suesswaren Grasel Become Official Chocolate Partner of European Poker Tour
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) may still be in full flow, but in a few weeks time attention will turn to Europe as the 11th season of The European Poker Tour (EPT) gets underway in Barcelona. The EPT have announced a new sponsorship deal in time for this season with the Austrian chocolate distributor Suesswaren Grasel, a deal that will run for this season and next season as well.
During Season 10 of the EPT Suesswaren Grasel handed out hundreds of chocolate bars during events in Vienna and Sanremo, and such was the success of these two trial runs the EPT decided to go one step further and sign the two year sponsorship deal with the Austrian company. It is estimated that around 3,000 bars of chocolate will be handed out at each event during the next two seasons, with the sponsorship deal also including the naming rights of at least one event during each stopover, with the €220 NL Hold’em Grasel Sweets Super Stack at EPT Barcelona kicking things off in August.
EPT President Edgard Stuchly had this to say in response to the announcement of the new deal. He said, “We are certain that players will think this is a sweet new addition on the EPT circuit. Suesswaren Grasel distribute some great chocolate, and we are very pleased to welcome Suesswaren Grasel as the latest mainstream sponsor for the upcoming seasons.”
Joachim Grasel is the Managing Director at Suesswaren Grasel and he is “excited” that his company’s chocolate’s will be distributed to poker players all across Europe over the next two seasons of the EPT. He said, “This new partnership with the European Poker Tour will allow players to try something new and sweet. We are excited to share our chocolates with thousands of players in the European Poker Tour.”
While the name Suesswaren Grasel may not mean much to many people outside of Europe, brands of chocolate like Milka and Toblerone no doubt will. In fact Suesswaren Grasel are one of the world leaders when it comes to the distribution of chocolates, and now there brands will eaten by some of the worlds best poker players too.
