45th Annual World Series of Poker Gets Underway Today

The yearly wait is over as today is the day that the 45th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) gets underway at the Royal All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and over the course of the next 49 days we will of course bring you all the thrills and spills from this years great event.

As is the norm the WSOP will start with the Casino Employees No Limit Hold-em Event, an event that has a buy-in of $500 and will be played out over the course of the first two days. Also starting today, Tuesday 27th May, is Event 2 the $25,000 Mixed Max No Limit Hold’em Event, an event that will be played out over four days with Day 1 being nine handed, Day 2 being six handed and Day 3 being played four handed, with Day 4 being played heads-up until a champion has been crowned.

Wednesday will see the first Pot-Limit Omaha event getting underway, with Thursday being the day that Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball action takes to the felt. Friday will see Razz players take to the table in Event 7 the $1,500 Seven Card Razz Event, with the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Shootout also getting underway on the same day.
